Gendered Dynamics of Coercive Parenting and Academic Vigor in South Korea

This longitudinal study shows that the relationship between coercive parenting and academic vigor differs by gender in South Korea, with reciprocal effects observed only among girls during key transitions. The findings challenge the universality of self-determination theory, highlighting culturally contingent dynamics in academic motivation.
